A few weeks ago while I was out of town, my trusty server that ran this site finally gave up the ghost. I ended up putting this site up on my Xenserver 5.6 box in a guest VM running CentOS 5. After restoring the website files and MYSQL database, I couldn't get the site to load properly. Pages were coming up blank. Turns out that the old version of Joomla I am running had some issues with the version of PHP that I am now running. I finally found a fix and the site is back online. Soon I will be upgrading Joomla to the latest stable, supported version. I also cleaned up the Hotline page to remove dead links. Sad to see a lot of information about Hotline go away. If you have old saved Hotline sites, documents, mailing lists, please contact me so that I can archive it on my site. |

The server move went pretty much as scheduled and was successful. DNS updates have propegated the internet it would seem. Downtime was probably an hour or so. Still a few more items to work on, but nothing too major at the moment. |

This web site and server will be going offline on 9/20/2008 at 10am EST or there abouts for planned server move. I am moving the server from one colocation facility to another. I am not sure how long this will take. I am planning on 2 to 4 hour maintenance window. Also involved in this move are IP address changes. The new server IP will be 69.49.156.10. Look for this server IP tomorrow afternoon. The dns changes should take place before 10am, and should propegate the internet quickly, I hope. That's it for now. Will update this site tomorrow, assuming everything goes to plan. |
